Uniform & School Meals

Uniform

We think it is important that, as an Academy, we set high standards in all that we do. Academies are a place of work for everyone who attends them. As such, we expect students to come to school dressed in an appropriate manner, in the agreed Academy uniform. Skerne Park Academy uniforms are available to order via the Elizabeth’s Embroidery and the My Clothing websites and are delivered directly to your home address.

Lunch Menu

Lunchtimes are:

11:30am – 12:30pm for Reception children

11:45am – 12:45pm for Key Stage 1

12.00pm – 1.00pm for Years 3 + 4

12.15pm – 1.15pm for Years 5 + 6

Due to the COVID pandemic, we staggered our lunch times as above. We have continued this to ensure consistency for our pupils this year.

We follow national guidelines on nutrition and encourage our children to have a school meal. Children who prefer to bring in a packed lunch may do so and we encourage healthy choices for this. A doctor’s letter may be required for any special dietary requirements or food allergies. Please contact the school office if you have any queries.

We request that unless there is a medical reason for a change in meal arrangements, that children stay on their current mealtime arrangement for a minimum period of a half-term. Any requests to change mealtime arrangements must be made in writing to the school office.

Parents/carers should pay for school meals each Monday morning for the week in advance, or in the event of absence, on the day that the child returns to school. Payment can be made via ‘Parent Pay’, in cash or by cheque payable to Skerne Park Academy (please print your child’s name on the back of the cheque). We encourage all parents/carers to utilise the free ParentPay service to pay for school meals and trips. If you have not received an activation code, please contact the school office.

Universal Free school meals are available to all Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children, and may also be available to older children upon application. Application forms are available from the school office.
